In 2018 many people were inspired after, the Gilleon’S Hope & Friends present: Divine Spoken Word Events. I received a lot of requests to share my teaching talent: ‘How to write poetry?’.
At The European Gospel Music and Entertainment Academy in Amsterdam, founder George Janssen created a Spoken Word Department where I could teach my newest passion: Poetry! During a three part lesson series, students of the Academy, guests from the events or outsiders were able to attend the classes for Free. Many talented Spoken Word artists like: ‘Peter Spreekt’, Soraya Valenko, singer-songwriters and other gospel artists were present!
In 2019 word got around of my work just by celebrating my life on Social Media. This resulted in being approached by ‘Stichting Jozef’ in Almere. A foundation which has a social work background and who has made it their mission to let vulnerable youth dream again. I was able to teach my first paid Divine Spoken Word Workshop to a very special group!
During class, I always take the opportunity in getting to know my students. This way I hope to create a safe environment for them to birth their own poems and share it with the audience. I shared my personal tips & tricks, used different methods and exercises. It always feels my heart with so much joy to see students discover their own writing talent!
Reflecting on these projects, I am so proud of all the results! It was a Fun, Faith and Food filled experience as I am a strong believer of Life being a Party!
– Juanito Bruynder (2018)
Review of ‘Stichting Jozef’ in English: “I thought that the Spoken Word was refreshing and clear. We received the opportunity to write our feelings on paper. I experienced Gigi as an easy going lady who gave the participants the space to be themselves. She knew how to encourage the ladies to pour out their hearts on paper. I truly recommend The Spoken Word Sessions.” – Juanito Bruynder (2018)

Do you teach spoken word online?
Hi Sandie, I haven’t forgotten about you! I posted a guideline on my Facebook page with some tips how to write, but haven’t had the time yet to make online videos yet. I am planning to do this in the future though! I hope you are writing! Blessings, GiGi 🙂
