Mother’s Day has always been a special day, where I would stand still and pay tribute to all The Strong Women in my life.
As a child, I would make breakfast in bed for the woman who gave me life. Together with my father and younger brother we would buy flowers, gifts and cook special dinners. Just to celebrate her efforts to raise us!
As an adult, I would experience this day as pretty difficult at times. Since, I have been praying and waiting for a family of my own! Luckily, I can share my love with thousands of children around me. Hopefully, God will answer my prayers someday!
I decided to do something constructive with these rollercoaster emotions and poured them into poems, before I knew it: ‘A Mother’s Heart’ and ‘Een Sterke Vrouw’ (A Strong Woman) were birthed. I received the privilege to share both in my church and on the radio in the Netherlands and in Suriname.
My first time sharing these Divine Spoken Words was in front of 500 church members and terrifying! Why, because my creations display my most inner thoughts and rawest feelings. Still I knew deep down in my heart that these messages were written for every kind of mother and woman.
Last year as well as this year, I was asked by Giovanni Rollins if I could share My Divine Spoken Word on his program: ‘Nochi di Alegria’ (Evening of Joy) at Radio Station Helmond. Every Monday between 21:00 – 23:00 pm you can hear news and great music from the Netherlands and the Netherland Antilles.
I met Giovanni at a training in church. We would occasionally have a chat with each other and he heard about my new talent. He eventually asked me if I could share a Divine Spoken Word on Mother’s Day with his listeners. I was in shock! Isn’t it amazing, that I had already written two poems for this special day?
You can imagine, how honored I was with these requests! To be able to write heart touching poems is the highest honor for me! The hugest compliment ever would be when people find comfort in the promises of His Word! The most humbling part of this journey, is the fact I get to share My Life through Poetry Sound Waves!
