As you guys know I’m an ordinary English teacher who has been actively teaching online and updating my blog during this ‘Corona Lock Down’. So this will be my last post in the month of April as I am getting ready to rest during my upcoming spring break in the month of May. Just like a flower during spring, I have to enjoy the sunshine and continue growing to bloom when the time is right!
Allow me to share one more update what I’ve been up to in the autumn and winter season of 2019. As you guys know, I am a busy honeybee and even though I take blogging and poetry breaks. I actually never sit still! During my mini-sabbaticals abroad, I usually take time to recharge as I sense the season shifting and something new is birthing into my life. God is full of surprises, because these seasons were a combination of education, business and ministry!

‘Gilleon’S Hope English Academy’
If you’ve read my previous articles, I have shared my testimonies of my journey with the Lord. Let me tell you, I never knew that My Creator had such major plans for my life! There is a well-known scripture in the Bible that is so true: “Within your heart you can make plans for your future, but the Lord chooses the steps you take to get there.” – Proverbs 16:9 TPT

‘Gilleon’S Hope & Carry’s Care’
Join me, as I share how this precious woman of God entered into my elevator of life!
Carmelita Samuel came into my life, while I was planted in ‘Maranatha Ministries’ Amsterdam. I had just given my life to Christ in 2004 and was divinely connected to her during a prayer meeting. This lady is not only a big sister in Christ, but as the years went by we developed a mother and daughter relationship. She has mentored me in the past 16 years and I love her dearly!
You are probably wondering what her profession is? Well, she has worked for ABN AMRO Bank and later on in life as a passionate social worker. Currently she works as the secretary of Apostle Stanley Hofwijks. If you are searching for a local church in Amsterdam, check out: www.maranatha.nl

The reason why she came to me for private English classes:
“When I started with this new job, I noticed that my English was not good enough. I would have to correspond with international ministers via e-mail or telephone and noticed that I was searching for the right words and correct sentence structures.
When I told Gigi that I wanted to improve my English. She advised me to listen and look at English programs, but also to read English literature. She told me she was starting her own company and was tutoring high school students who had difficulty with their English during class. When I heard that, I decided to invest in myself and hire Gigi to teach me the English language. She offered to this during private English classes in the library.
Gigi is a nice teacher and gives good education. I like the reward system she integrates during the sessions. The atmosphere Gigi creates really stimulates me to develop my English skills. I feel safe enough to make mistakes and to learn from them. Gigi wants to be sure that after the course your English is ‘EXCELLENT’!
I love the way she believes in me and motivates me in my personal growth. I love GiGi!” – Carmelita Samuel (2020)

‘Gilleon’S Hope & John Hofwijks’
John Hofwijks came into my life as a youth pastor and one of my teachers at bible school during my time in ‘Maranatha Ministries’ Amsterdam. While I was still working at my previous high school, SG de Triade in Edam. He asked me to teach him the English language. We started with a couple of classes, but at a certain point I left this church and we lost contact over the years. Currently, I am planted in God’s Embassy Amsterdam (www.embassyamsterdam.nl) but from time to time I would still visit their church services and it would still feel like home. During a conversation, he told me that he wanted to finish what we started 11 years ago. This time his goal was to preach in English, so I accepted the challenge!
You’ve probably guessed it! Yes, he is the son of Apostle Stanley Hofwijks but also a very talented soccer player for Ajax and C.E.O of the fashion brand ‘It’s Given’: www.givenfashion.com. You can also check him out on his social media platforms: Facebook, YouTube and Instagram (@ykyq_2021)!
The reason why he came to me for private English classes:
“As a public speaker, I normally speak in my native language. I speak in Dutch, but on some occasions, I need a more international approach.
So I contacted GiGi to upgrade my English speaking. After she checked my level of English, she started teaching me to move from the level I was towards the level I wanted to be.
After every session, I became stronger and better in speaking the English language. She exactly knew where to work on and how to make it better.
As a man of middle age who hasn’t been in school for more than 20 years, she’s the best teacher to me. Thank you for being a teacher and mentor!” – John Hofwijks (2020)

As you can see, the tables have turned and I am the one who has received the priveledge to teach, minister and mentor them. I feel honored and humbled to be a part of their journey. I pray that they will be launched into their next level in life and know how to operate in this next dimension!
At the moment, I am not able to teach in the local library ‘Waterland’ due to the ‘Corona Lock Down’ but other options are possible via ‘Zoom’ video call. The classes can be given in Dutch as well as in the English language. Anything is possible!
I am super blessed with the lovely reviews of my students and their belief in Gilleon’S Hope ‘Let Your Word Shine’. If you are interested in private English classes for yourself or children? Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my services!
